Los compañeras del Centro de Apoyo Mutuo Jíbaro en Camuy
Centro de Apoyo Mutuo Jíbaro-Camuy es un proyecto agrícola de mujeres del Movimiento Indígena Jíbaro Taíno y una cooperativa de siembra. CAM-JI sirve como un centro para reuniones comunitarias, recolección de ayuda y distribución de suministros.
El CAM-JI CAMUY surge en respuesta a la agudización del abandono e invisibilización de las comunidades rurales, jíbaras e indígenas antes y después del huracán María. Iniciativa generada por varias comunidades para enfrentar las condiciones de empobrecimiento ante las medidas de austeridad, la falta de trabajo justo, falta vivienda adecuada, alimentación no saludable y escasez servicios de salud.
Añadido a esto nuestra comunidad rural agraria e indígena enfrenta desestabilidad total económica ante la pérdida de cultivos y semillas y la falta de tenencia de tierras para cultivar.
Nuestro centro acciona esencialmente con comuniades jíbaras e indígenas para cambiar la sociedad y recuperar el acceso a la tierra y la agricultura. Otro elemento que trabajamos es la formación mediante el adiestramiento en estudios de materiales históricos y la reivindicación para asumirnos como dirigentes nativ@s de nuestras comunidades e impulsar cambios sociales.
Trabajamos desde una economía feminista solidaria agro- jíbara ya que nuestro centro es liderado mayormente por mujeres que ante la necesidad de contrarrestar el empobrecimiento del embate económico y el deterioro y/o pérdida de sus trabajos y propiedades deciden organizarse y darle forma a un proyecto cooperativista de generación de ingresos mediante la venta de producción agraria, medicina y productos menores.

Our center operates essentially with jíbaras and indigenous communities to change society and regain access to land and agriculture. Another element that we work is training through training in historical materials studies and the vindication to assume ourselves as native leaders of our communities and promote social changes.
We work from an agro-jihadist feminist solidary economy since our center is led mostly by women who, faced with the need to counteract the impoverishment of the economic impact and the deterioration and / or loss of their jobs and properties, decide to organize and shape a cooperative project of income generation through the sale of agricultural production, medicine and minor products.
